Mum’s The Word 2: Teenagers, the follow up to the smash hit play Mum’s The Word had it’s Australian premiere in Melbourne in 2006 playing to 37,000 people over an extended season. In 2008, it again toured Sydney, and Perth showcasing local stars Louise Siversen, Victoria Nicolls, Jean Kittson, Tracy Bartram and Katrina Foster.
Older and wider, this time the mums brought tales of tormenting teenagers to the stage. A decade after the mums first appeared on stage with leaky boobs and dirty nappies, the women recalled their youthful naïve idealism regarding motherhood and entertained us with tales of bewilderment and frustration in having to deal with their children’s raging adolescence – along with their own aging.
Directed by Karrin Farifax, Choreography by Tony Bartuccio, Scenic and Costume Design by Pam Johnson, Lighting Designer by Marsha Sibthrope, Sound Design by Michael Waters and Noah Drew.
“Mum’s the word 2 is a funny show with a lot of heart…will no doubt become the smashing success of the first.”
“It’s a night of comedy that no self-respecting mum can afford to miss”
“Your face will hurt from laughing”
